Artistic and Executive Director DIEHL+RITTER 

Madeline Ritter is a fully qualified lawyer with a professional focus on copyright law. She founded tanz performance köln, an international production and performance platform for contemporary dance in 1989 and was its artistic director and managing director until 2004. She has initiated many European networks, been the director of inter-disciplinary festivals and produced international co-productions in the field of dance, media and performance art. From 1993 to 1998, she was the founding and artistic director of Pictures of (e)Motion, an international festival for dance, film and new media at the Kunst- und Ausstellungshalle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland in Bonn. She was curator of the dance programme at Theater Heilbronn from 2003 to 2008. She was appointed project director of Tanzplan Deutschland by the German Kulturstiftung des Bundes (Federal Cultural Foundation) in 2004. Her many years of experience of working with artists, institutions and sponsors formed the basis of a partnership-based promotional strategy that was rolled out, under her guidance, in nine cities and with the support of many project partners. Tanzplan Deutschland mobilised 21 million euros for dance and became a model project internationally. When the Tanzplan Deutschland project came to an end in 2011, she founded the non-for-profit company DIEHL+RITTER with Ingo Diehl in order to manage, among other initiatives, the Kulturstiftung des Bundes new dance funds: TANZFONDS ERBE (Dance Heritage Fund) and TANZFONDS PARTNER (Dance Partners Fund). In 2015 she launched DANCE ON, a Europe-wide initiative for dancers over 40. She was also an expert of the initiative group of the support programme TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund, which DIEHL+RITTER has been supporting together with the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland since 2017. She teaches culture management at various European universities and is a certified coach and facilitator of processes of change. Madeline Ritter is involved as a member of various committees, among others the Supervisory Board of Kulturfabrik Kampnagel in Hamburg, the board of trustees of the Kulturfonds (Cultural Fund) Frankfurt RheinMain and the Advisory Board of Deutsches Tanzarchiv Köln.From 2014 to 2019 she was Deputy Chairperson of the Pina Bausch Foundation, since 2020, she is Chair of the Advisory Board. From 2014 to 2019 she was Deputy Chairperson of the Pina Bausch Foundation, since 2020, she is Chair of the Advisory Board.

Directors of the funding programmes TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund and TANZPAKT RECONNECT

Riccarda Herre completed her dance training at the ballet school of the Hamburg State Opera. She then worked as a solo dancer for various companies in Germany and abroad, for example CIE Red Notes in Paris, the Choreographic Theatre at the Volksbühne Berlin and the Tanztheater of the German National Theatre in Weimar. She graduated as a culture and media manager at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre in 2004. She has worked as an assistant and production director for various dance companies, theatres and institutions since 2002. She was, for example, project director of the Tanz im August and Context festivals at the Hebbel am Ufer theatre in Berlin. She took charge of the 1st Dance Education Biennale for Tanzplan Deutschland. She has been project co-ordinator of the DANCE HERITAGE FUND and the DANCE PARTNERS FUND since 2011. Since 2017 she is managing in collaboration with Isabel Niederhagen the promotion fund Tanzpakt Stadt-Land-Bund.

Isabel Niederhagen

After studying theatre science, comparative literature and journalism, Isabel Niederhagen was a researcher at the Institute for Theater Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin before becoming press officer and programme dramaturgist at the Theater am Halleschen Ufer Berlin in 1999. In 2003, she co-founded the k3 berlin – Office for Culture and CommunIation agency, which among other things managed press and public relations for TANZ IM AUGUST – International Dance Festival Berlin and the DANCE CONGRESS GERMANY. She joined DIEHL+RITTER in 2012. Since 2017 she manages the promotion fund Tanzpakt Stadt-Land-Bund in collaboration with Riccarda Herre.

Artistic Director Dance On Ensemble

Ty Boomershine studied dance in Ohio and Missouri. In addition to dancing with various artists and companies, including Lucinda Childs, Emio Greco | PC, LeineRoebana, Dan Wagoner, Gus Solomons Jr., Bill T. Jones, Ton Simons and the Merce Cunningham Repertory Ensemble, he has also performed in pieces by Dancenoise and Giulia Mureddu. He danced in Robert Wilsons’ “Einstein on the Beach” and has been Lucinda Child’s Artistic Assistant, as well as rehearsal director for the ICKamsterdam. Ty Boomershine joined the Dance On Ensemble in 2015 and became its Artistic Director in 2019.

Constanze lütke

Head of Finance

After training as a hotel manager, Constanze Lütke worked in various positions in the Berlin hotel industry from 1988 to 2007, most recently as director at the Hotel Berliner Hof and as assistant to the management in the area of hotel and project controlling. As office manager, she built up the administrative area of the start-up company Gorilla Natürlich Fastfood and worked as assistant to the finance director for Veolia Germany from 2009 to early 2015. In parallel, she managed the commercial area of the non-profit association starke familie e.V. until December 2021. She joined DIEHL+RITTER for the first time in March 2015; after a two-year break, she has now been heading the financial administration together with Christof Müller since January 2022.

Head of Finance

Christof Müller studied geography and political sciences. He was subsequently employed as a project manager at the Institut für Europäische Politik and the Centre international de formation européenne, where he was responsible for projects under the Jean-Monnet Programme of the European Commission, DG Education and Culture. From 2009 to 2013 he worked as an independent project and event manager for, e.g., Internet & Society Collaboratory, Stiftung Menschen für Menschen, and Discover Football. From 2013 to 2015 he oversaw the Dance Partners Fund and Dance Heritage Fund, both initiated by the German Federal Cultural Foundation and Diehl+Ritter, at sauerbrey | raabe. büro für kulturelle angelegenheiten. From 2015 to 2019 he has been responsible for RomArchive’s financial administration as well as contractual arangements and legal matters related to funding. He has been financial manager for DIEHL+RITTER since July 2019.

Johanna Lühr studied German and Romance studies with a double degree at the universities of Bonn and Florence. From 2004 to 2005 she attended the School of Journalism in Berlin (BJS) and subsequently worked as a freelance journalist for various magazines, newspapers and radio. From 2009 to 2019 she was responsible for press communications at the Schaubühne Berlin. She is co-editor and editor-in-chief of the independent travel magazine Il Paradiso. Since January 2020 she is responsible for communications at DIEHL+RITTER.

Nina Witte

Office Manager 

Nina Witte is a trained marketing communications specialist and has worked for several advertising agencies, including WAF, Pretzlaw Communications and Runze & Casper. She worked in customer consulting and project management for the Fritz radio programme of rbb, Diakonisches Werk Berlin-Brandenburg, DGB Berlin-Brandenburg and Stiftung Mercator, among others. As a project manager, she was responsible for trade fairs and major events, e.g. for the Berliner Sparkasse, including financial planning and controlling, implementation including coordination of all trades and internal staff. From 2013 to 2018, she was responsible at Culture Form, Büro für Produktdesign, both as assistant to the management and for office management, financial administration and preparatory accounting. From 2019 to 2021, she took on the role of executive assistant at Arnold Anwälte, a business and corporate law firm. Since August 2021, she has strengthened the team at Diehl+Ritter in the areas of office organisation, communication and financial management.

Isabel Aguirre Siemer studied Spanish, English and Italian Philology in Berlin, Salamanca and Cagliari. As a freelance cultural manager, she curated and organised literature projects at the Literaturwerkstatt Berlin from 2004. Between 2010-2012 she worked at the House of World Cultures and was responsible for the project coordination of the international project "Translating HipHop". She is co-editor of the anthology "No Serenity here. An Anthology of African Poetry in Amharic, English, French, Arabic and Portuguese" (Beijing 2010), which was published in Chinese translation for the 2010 Shanghai Biennale and Expo. Since 2014 she has worked for the agency relations* Klingen and Darian, among others. In 2013 she founded the association No Boundaries e.V. and has since been responsible for the project "Behind Bars" at the Berlin Juvenile Detention Centre in cooperation with the Berlin Juvenile Detention Centre. Since 2018 Isabel has been working as a freelance financial administrator and for the Dance Congress 2019. Since July 2020 she has been working for Diehl+Ritter in the financial administration team.

Claudia Engels studied art education in Maastricht, ethnology in Berlin and visual anthropology, with a focus on ethnographic documentary film, in Manchester. In recent years she has worked as a project manager in Berlin. At the büro für kulturelle angelegenheiten she organised various events at the interface of art, education, politics and science from 2013 to 2015 for the Federal Cultural Foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Federal Agency for Civic Education, among others. From 2015 to 2019 she was project coordinator of the pioneering project RomArchive - Digital Archive of the Sinti and Roma. She was responsible for translations, editing and proofreading in close cooperation with the curators of the various archive sections. Since August 2020 she has been working for DIEHL+RITTER in the project management of the special programme TANZPAKT RECONNECT.

Bastienne Kästner graduated in Applied Cultural Studies from the Leuphana University in Lüneburg, focusing on music and cultural promotion and organisation among other topics. After various activities in cultural and international projects such as the Kampnagel Dance and Theatre Festival and in Community Dance, she worked for several years as a project manager of international courses at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR). In 2014, she took executive responsibility for organisation of a new African-German Master’s degree (a development and education policy project with the German Society for International Partnership (GIZ)) at the HWR. In addition to course co-ordination, she was responsible for administering the project budget and supporting the academic director in co-operation negotiations for the financing and further development of the project. She has been a financial manager at DIEHL+RITTER gUG since June 2017.

Christian Koch studied German and history. After working as a bookseller and magazine editor, he took over the administrative management of the Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart in 2006. From 2009 to 2012 he was managing director of PACT Zollverein Essen. From 2012 to 2014, he worked as financial administrator for the festival "Pina 40 - 40 Years of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch". Afterwards, 2014 - 2016, he was managing director of the Pina Bausch Foundation, finally working for the city of Wuppertal as project manager for the project "Pina Bausch Zentrum" until 2018. From 2019 to 2021, together with Gudrun Sommer, he directed the Duisburg Film Week and doxs! documentaries for children and young people. For 20 years, he has worked in various constellations and functions with artists and artist collectives as well as curating art projects, authoring and editing publications on art, cultural studies and politics. Since 2012, he has held teaching positions in the field of cultural management at the University of Witten/Herdecke and the Folkwang University of the Arts Essen. He joined the Diehl+Ritter team in April 2021 in the area of financial management and controlling.

rebekka mauser 

Project and Finance Managers, funding programmes

Rebekka Mauser has worked in the administration and controlling of various cultural institutions, including the International Film Festival Munich and the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, since her training as a tax clerk in 2002. From 2013 to 2016, she studied cultural management at the Ludwigsburg University of Education. Since September 2021, she has been strengthening the DIEHL+Ritter team in the project and financial management of the special tender TANZPAKT RECONNECT.

Dance On Participation

Laura Böttinger studied classical dance in Vienna, where she was also trained for the "Ich bin O.K.". - cultural and educational association of people with and without disabilities. In 2017 she gave a seminar on cultural promotion at the MUK Music and Art Private University of Vienna as a guest lecturer. In addition to several production assistances, among others at the Tanznacht Berlin and in collaboration with Jochen Roller (DE) and Yuki Kihara (NZ), she has worked as a dancer in Rwanda and Finland. She has been working for DIEHL+RITTER since 2016 and is production manager of the Dance On Ensemble as well as artistic director of the Dance On Participation education programme.

Dance On Dramaturg and Producer 

Simone Graf studied art history and theatre/dance studies (Magister Artium) at the University of Leipzig. After working as a gallery assistant at Galería Hilario Galguera Mexico/Leipzig, she was a conceptual assistant and project manager at PACT Zollverein in Essen from 2013-2018, responsible for managing the residency programme and various interdisciplinary formats and festivals, among other things. Subsequently, she was co-curator and production manager for Forecast Festival 3 at HKW in Berlin. In 2019, she worked as editor and production manager for Tanz im August on parental leave. This was followed in 2020 by editorial management for the publications of the 11th Berlin Biennale and in 2021 by editorial management for the 70th anniversary of the Berliner Festspiele. Since June 2019, she has also been working as a freelance production manager for the Berlin choreographer and performer Claire Vivianne Sobottke. Since August 2021 she has been artistic producer of the Dance On Ensemble at DIEHL+RITTER.

Hélène Philippot

Dance On Project Manager and Producer

Hélène Philippot studied musicology and management at the Université Paris IV Sorbonne and Universität der Künste Berlin. In 2008-2012 she worked for numerous cultural organisations in France, including the orchestra office of the Orchestre National d'Île-de-France, the festival Les Nuits du Mont Rome and the Opéra National de Paris. Between 2013 and 2021, she worked for the Berliner Festspiele as production manager in the fields of circus, dance and for the festival Jazzfest Berlin. In 2017/2018 she participated in the Festival Production Management Training of the European Festivals Association, with residencies at Santarcangelo dei Teatri and the Edinburgh International Festival. Since the end of 2019 she is responsible for the Company Management of Swiss choreographer Lea Moro. In February 2021, she completed the further education course in business administration at the Technical University of Nuremberg. Since June 2021 she has been artistic producer of the Dance On Ensemble at DIEHL+RITTER.
